Kirwans Bridge LEAP has been developed as part of the LEAPing into Safer Communities initiative — a collaborative project between Strathbogie Shire Council and Greater Shepparton City Council.
LEAPs (Local Emergency Action Plans) are a local community/individual household approach to emergency preparedness and compliments the other levels of emergency planning in Victoria being Municipal, Regional and State levels.
The LEAP project is a collaboration between Council and the various emergency agencies with the community.
Steering groups will be established in each town with Community meetings arranged to receive on the ground community input and suggestions.
